New online tool allows consumers to take control of their financial destiny

Moneyextra’s powerful new Financial Planner offers a clear personalised action plan to achieve financial goals.

It is time for people to take control of their financial destiny! Moneyextra’s new online service Financial Planner (http://financialplanner.moneyextra.com) is free, fully interactive and focused clearly on user needs and objectives. Financial Planner covers all areas of personal finances, including mortgages, loans, insurance, savings, investments and pension planning.

Consumers simply enter the details of their finances that they wish to include and choose their financial aims and objectives for the future. Financial Planner’s unique market leading software then compiles a full financial health check and a personalised action plan.

The financial health check takes no more than 20–30 minutes to complete and provides a free, comprehensive overview of a user’s financial situation with a proposed action plan. The analysis identifies areas to focus attention on in order to meet financial goals, what needs less attention and also identifies gaps in people’s current financial situation.

“Financial Planner will help our users map out their future and ensure that they have a financial plan to achieve their goals,” comments Mark Fleet, Managing Director of Moneyextra. The launch of Financial Planner is the latest step in Moneyextra’s continuing strategy of providing simple, clear and easy-to-use online services that educate and assist consumers to manage their finances more efficiently.

Moneyextra has teamed up with specialist software house Distribution Technology, to make the UK’s first interactive ‘Do-It-Yourself’ financial planning tool available to everyone. Ben Goss, Managing Director of Distribution Technology said, “Even though it produces a sophisticated analysis, Financial Planner is quick and simple to use. But behind this simplicity is a powerful piece of software that incorporates best practice financial planning and investment advice techniques such as: asset allocation, stochastic forecasting and life time cash flow analysis.”

Financial Planner compliments Moneyextra’s other online services that already allow consumers to make informed financially valuable decisions about their loans, credit cards, mortgages, bank accounts, insurance, savings and investments. Mark Fleet added, “Using Moneyextra’s comparison tools, consumers can already save thousands of pounds a year(1) by taking out more competitive financial products. Now, with Financial Planner, they can make clear, informed choices to help build a secure future for themselves.”

Financial Planner is also supported by a team of fully trained and qualified advisers(2), just a phone call away, who can take users through the online service, and who can also help consumers put their action plan into place to choose suitable solutions, advising on the best products in the financial market place to address actions identified by Financial Planner.
